Introducing Analytics: From Food Safety Data to Actionable Intelligence

Our latest release gives every team a clearer view of performance with role-specific KPIs and visualizations in custom dashboards.

Making sense of the data you have

Food safety teams have never had a shortage of data.

The challenge is turning that data into a clear, defensible view of what’s happening across the operation, and communicating in a way that different teams can quickly understand and act on.

FSQA leaders often have a strong sense that a process is deteriorating, a facility is underperforming, or a recurring issue deserves investment. But building the analysis to substantiate that hunch can require significant time and technical expertise.

We’re excited to introduce the Analytics hub, a new dashboard experience in Provision that brings configurable business intelligence and visualization directly into the platform.

A new layer of insight in Provision

Analytics expands the ways customers can work with the data captured in Provision, complementing the other tools teams use to understand and manage performance.

  • Reporting

Helps teams rapidly find evidence for an investigation or audit, using program code tags, live filters, and instant data search.

  • Insights

Gives frontline managers an immediate view of what needs attention, helping them prioritize overdue tasks and open deviations.

  • Risk Scoring

Provides an intuitive, continuous, and objective measure of operational performance and risk.

  • API
Exports Provision data into centralized data platforms, enabling enterprise-wide analysis in a preferred BI environment.
  • Analytics (New)

Enables teams to automatically calculate KPIs, create visualizations, and build role-specific dashboards.

Together, these capabilities give teams more ways to turn operational data into evidence, understanding, and action.

Ask bigger questions of your data

For years, food safety and quality teams have collected data in one system and analyzed it somewhere else. Exporting CSVs, maintaining integrations, and waiting on IT or data teams can turn a simple question into a lengthy process.

The Analytics hub brings that workflow into Provision, eliminating several steps. Because it uses Records in the platform, dashboards and KPIs can dynamically connect to real-time operations rather than becoming a separate, lagging reporting environment.

Anything you could accomplish in Power BI can now be done natively in Provision, without exporting data or maintaining a separate integration.

Teams can:

  • Build automated KPI calculations
  • Create charts and visualizations
  • Quick-filter results by any variable
  • Analyze changes across specific time periods
  • Build role-specific dashboards

Where these capabilities really differ from the norm is in how much freedom teams have to explore their data. Most FSQA solutions impose limits. Charts may be totally predefined, or analysis may be constrained to structured resources, or results may be limited to the progress of a production line.

The Analytics hub gives teams more flexibility to ask questions of their data. Choose any dimensions that matter, then decide how to calculate or visualize results. Teams can shape their views fluidly, analyzing data on their own terms.

This makes sophisticated analytics more accessible to the people who need it, while keeping the analysis connected to the operational data where the work really happens.

The right view for every team

The Analytics hub becomes particularly useful when different teams need different answers from the same underlying data.

With the new release, each audience can have its own tailored dashboard.

That might mean:

  • Sanitation Lead
Pulls up the week's ATP pass/fail rates by zone to coach operators on common misses at the start of their shift.
  • Production QA
Looks at live SPC charts on a line-mounted TV, showing attribute drift to coordinate front-of-line adjustments before deviations occur.
  • Executive
Reviews a concise scorecard of performance per team, comparing deviations and overdues with the percentage change from the previous month.
  • Plant Manager
Checks a cost-of-quality dashboard before a weekly huddle to flag which line needs attention to address rework, scrap, and hold times.

Instead of everyone marching to the beat of their own spreadsheet, teams work from the same harmonized data source. And every analytical view can be shaped by the people responsible for improving the results.

From data to decisions

The value of Analytics comes from the decisions it helps people make.

Teams can move from a hunch to an investment-ready thesis, using consistent data to show where performance is changing, which facilities or processes are driving the difference, and where an intervention is likely to have the greatest impact.

They can also surface trends while they are developing, rather than waiting for them to become deviations, complaints, or audit findings. And with everyone working from the same underlying data, FSQA, operations, and leadership can align around a common view of performance instead of building separate versions of the numbers.

Role-specific dashboards make that analysis easier to understand and communicate across the business, particularly for people who don't live in the data every day.

The data is already there. Analytics now makes it easier to see, understand, and act on.
